Job Summary

OSG is seeking a Marketing Coordinator - Content & Email to produce and publish content that drives organic search performance and powers our email marketing program.

This role is execution-focused and well-suited to someone early in their career who wants real ownership of real deliverables. AI literacy, builder mentality, and systems thinking will be key to your success. You do not need to be a health and safety expert. What we need is a driven personality who will use (and build) tools to deliver strong writing, sound research, and SEO-optimized content at a consistent cadence. 

This role is hybrid, based out of either of our Ontario offices (Toronto or London).
The salary range for this role is $45,000-$55,000 for the successful candidate in London and $50,000-$60,000 for Toronto.

Job Responsibilities

Content Production

  • Write and publish blog posts and optimize existing content to improve organic search performance, working from priorities set by the Director of Marketing 
  • Apply SEO best practices including on-page optimization, heading structure, keyword intent, and internal linking
  • Continuously improve organic channel performance through SEO optimization
  • This is a revenue-driving channel at OSG which we measure in dollars and cents
  • Conduct research on unfamiliar health and safety topics, assessing source quality and distilling technical or regulatory material into readable content
  • Submit content through review prior to publication; maintain responsibility for research quality, writing quality, and publishing cadence

Email Marketing

  • Serve as the primary operator for OSG's email program in HubSpot Marketing Hub
  • Write email copy adapted from content pillars, build contact segments, and schedule campaigns
  • Report on core email metrics in HubSpot

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, english, journalism, or a related professional field preferred but not required
  • 1-3 years of experience in content writing, email marketing, or a related role
  • Demonstrated experience with SEO tools such as Semrush, Ahrefs, or Screaming Frog
  • Experience with an email marketing or marketing automation platform (HubSpot considered a strong asset)

Skills, Knowledge & Attributes

Must-Haves:

  • Strong writing: You produce clear, accurate, professional content at volume and can adapt tone and format across a blog post, an email, and a short social post.
  • SEO fundamentals: You understand how on-page decisions, heading structure, internal linking, and keyword intent affect organic performance. You can apply that thinking to a real website with real problems. You have demonstrated experience with SEO tools. 
  • Active fluency with AI tools such as Claude or Gemini for research and building repeatable workflows. This is not a prompt-writing position, but we do use AI in our day-to-day. Copying and pasting AI-generated content will not meet our expectations. If you have built or used a Claude skill, we want to hear from you. 
  • Research discipline and the ability to get up to speed quickly on unfamiliar or technical topics.
  • Self-direction: ability to take a brief, ask the right questions, and deliver without constant management.

Strong assets: 

  • HubSpot or comparable email marketing platform experience
  • Background in health and safety, regulated industries, or compliance-adjacent sectors
  • B2B or compliance-focused writing experience 
  • Wordpress or comparable CMS experience

Nice to haves:

  • Project management tool experience (Asana, Monday, Trello or similar)
  • Salesforce experience 
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, Looker Studio
  • French-language proficiency (able to write in French)

Success in this role looks like:

  • Consistent, on-cadence content production with minimal reworking after subject-matter expert review
  • Measurable improvement in organic search performance
  • Reliable, well-executed email campaigns that support revenue and engagement goals 
  • Curiosity, constant drive for improvement, ownership
